EPICS in IEEE mentoring opportunities are a perfect way for IEEE members to help students make an impact in their local community. Whether you’re a young professional member or a life member, your coaching and experience are invaluable to students as they navigate their service learning projects.

“The EPICS in IEEE mentorship not only shows students the possible ways to reach their project goals but also motivates and inspires them to achieve the impossible,” said Dr. Megha. Arakeri, EPICS in IEEE Mentor and Committee member. “In my experience, passing on the knowledge that I gained through my experience to the engaged students was not an easy task. But with EPICS in IEEE’s support, the journey was made simpler and more beautiful”.

During National Mentoring Month this January, EPICS in IEEE had the opportunity to share their mentoring program with Young Professionals at the IEEE Rising Stars Conference. The presentation provided tips on being a mentor for technical teams throughout your career. In addition, the presentation detailed the structure of EPICS in IEEE projects and the time commitment and expectations for our mentors. Check out our slides here.
