Individuals with disabilities often face significant barriers to accessing smart technology, as most systems are designed for typical users and lack support for diverse communication needs like Arabic Sign Language. This challenge makes even simple tasks frustrating or impossible for children at El Eman Institution for Children with Disability.

To address this, The British University in Egypt – BUE is developing “Reflecting Inclusivity: A Smart Mirror for Accessible Technology for All Abilities.” This innovative smart mirror will provide an intuitive interface, offering crucial support for individuals who cannot speak, hear, or easily navigate traditional screens.

The project aims to enhance digital inclusivity, empowering individuals with disabilities by making technology more accessible and user-friendly.

This project was made possible by $4,680.00 in funding from EPICS in IEEE.
