PROJECT ENTITY: Kumaraguru College of Technology IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter

Children in India, particularly those at Ashirwad Special School in Coimbatore, face significant challenges due to lower-limb disabilities such as cerebral palsy. These conditions severely restrict their ability to perform basic actions like walking, standing, and self-mobility, leading to a loss of independence. For instance, a 14-year-old boy struggles with rapid leg contractions, making it impossible to move his own body weight.

The Kumaraguru College of Technology IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter is actively developing a robotic exoskeleton solution.

The expected outcome is to empower children with lower-limb disabilities to achieve greater independence. This robotic exoskeleton will enable them to walk, stand, and move independently, significantly improving their quality of life and fostering self-reliance.

This project was made possible by $4,850 in funding from EPICS in IEEE.
