COMMUNITY PARTNER: Slow Food - Bolivian Leaders for Food Security and Sovereignty

In Jachuma-Soracachi, Oruro, Bolivia, small producers face limitations in agricultural production due to low mechanization and limited access to smart technologies.

Universidad Mayor de San Andrés WIE SB Affinity Group along with Slow Food – Bolivian Leaders for Food Security and Sovereignty is developing two smart electric microtractors to provide an accessible, locally relevant solution that increases productivity, reduces the physical effort required of farmers, and strengthens food security. The project also promotes STEM education by engaging students in engineering solutions that address real community needs.

This project was made possible by $8,860 in funding from the Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), an EPICS in IEEE partner.
