Lung failure patients in India experience severe mobility restrictions and dependence on continuous, often bulky, oxygen therapy systems that lack adaptive intelligence and early warning capabilities. This significantly diminishes their quality of life and increases emergency risks within community and hospital settings, impacting hundreds of individuals.

The project team, Saveetha IEEE Student Branch Chapter, is developing “BreatheEase,” an Adaptive Oxygen Management and Monitoring System. This innovative system aims to provide intelligent, adaptive oxygen delivery and real-time monitoring for lung failure patients.

The expected outcome is an improved quality of life for lung failure patients through enhanced mobility and reduced dependence on conventional oxygen systems. The BreatheEase system will offer adaptive oxygen management and early warning capabilities, mitigating emergency risks and positively impacting 200 people in the short term and 400 in the long term.
