In addition to reducing dependency on fossil fuels, electric vehicles (EVs) solve environmental issues. However, because there are fewer qualified technicians available in rural locations, it can be difficult to ensure their dependability. Sufficient maintenance is essential for broad implementation. This project develops EV kits for two-wheelers in order to address the pressing demand for sustainable transportation, with a focus on rural areas with limited maintenance services. It also solves the shortage of skilled technicians for EV maintenance in rural areas.
This project from the AISSMS Institute of Information Technology in Pune will be carried out in four phases like Developing Prototypes of EV kits, Development and Manufacturing of EV Kits, training of rural mechanics to provide EV skills to rural areas and Feedback from participants for improvement. It is essential to offer hands-on training to technicians in rural areas to promote future career options in this field and to build a deeper understanding of sustainable technologies.
This project was made possible by $4,100.00 in funding from the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), an EPICS in IEEE partner.
