The EPICS in IEEE & TryEngineering Service Learning Grant Program is a new partnership between two IEEE Educational Activities initiatives, designed to support educators in guiding students (ages 5–17) through hands-on, project-based learning that connects engineering with community impact.
Through this program, students become changemakers by identifying real-world challenges in their schools or local communities and designing solutions that make a difference. Rooted in service learning, the student-led experience reinforces academic concepts while fostering teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.
Educators may receive up to $2,000 in funding to support materials, resources, and implementation of their service-learning projects. This high-impact approach enhances student learning outcomes, promotes civic engagement, and builds leadership and collaboration skills—while showing students how engineering can be a powerful tool for social good.
Join our training webinar on December 8th to learn more about the program and how to apply. Or, invite an educator you know who might be interested in bringing service learning to their classroom.
